Game Of Thrones About To Conquer The Land Of Spain

Spain is not part of the 7 kingdoms, but Game Of Thrones is about to conquer this new land with its production.

They have started filming two weeks ago and after putting out a casting call for roughly 600 extras they have received 86,000 applications! Of course the economy of Spain is not exactly booming at the moment so many people could use a job that will get you approximately $65 a day, but for some it was so much about the show that they took a vacation just to be part of it.

The GOT production is expected to generate millions (which was about $32 million for Northern Ireland last year) so yes it’s a pretty big deal … Spain is the latest addition to the European filming locations after Northern Ireland and Croatia, they also both have reported dramatic increases in tourism following the show’s visit

The Alcázar palace and Osuna were obviously perfect sets for GOT.

The filing is not going to last forever, but the legend will remain … and restaurants are already creating menus of tapas inspired by the show. Roasted baby dragon or Wedding Cake anyone?
