In 2018, we’re all about wellness, especially after all of the stress-inducing shenanigans that played out across our news feeds last year. And that’s why we’re trying to stick to our New Year’s resolution: taking a moment to take care of ourselves at least once a month.

That promise starts with Glen Ivy Hot Springs, a Southern California day-trip destination that welcomes anyone in need of some relaxation, recharging, or rejuvenation — a haven nestled within Cold Water Canyon at the base of the Santa Ana Mountains.

We recently had the pleasure of soaking up some spa amenities (among the 19 therapeutic pools) and enjoying some fabulous treatments like a full-body moisturizing session at the Grotto, an experience where guests are “painted” head-to-toe in warm lavender-eucalyptus lotion and invited to lounge in a steamy, subterranean, cave-like room.

But before nourishing your skin at the Grotto, take a dip in one of the hot spring mineral baths to loosen up those muscles. (Arrive early as these tend to be popular among all guests.) Then there’s Club Mud, an outdoor pavilion where you can cover yourself in locally sourced mud that takes on the form of a brown clay that helps draw out impurities and exfoliate dead skin cells.

Once we were loosened, scrubbed, and moisturized, it was time to head over to the Salon Zone for a Cappuccino Float Pedicure. It all begins with a thick and creamy Butter Brulee and chicory root foot soak that nourishes any dry dull skin. Next, a whipped caramel-coffee polish helped tighten the skin, followed by a hydrating milk massage that sent us to heaven with a blend of natural oils and vitamin E. Needless to say, we didn’t want to leave.

There is currently a variety of packages available for everyone to experience at Glen Ivy. The “Healthy Balance” package includes admission to all of the pools, a $100 spa service, and complimentary fresh squeezed juice from Chill Zone. Grab a group for the “Better With Friends” package, including all services in the “Healthy Balance” package, as well as a warm robe and a moisturizing Grotto treatment for two.

Glen Ivy also offers an unforgettable experience for loved ones with the “Cloud Nine” gift card. An example of what this could cover for a day: sparkling wine and robes upon arrival, as well as private seating on the exclusive Ivy Terrace. You could also treat loved ones to the aforementioned Grotto service, a deeply refreshing facial, a relaxing massage and a wellness lunch at Ivy Kitchen. (Try the loaded nachos!)
