How to Positively Reinvent Yourself September 3, 2015 Sommarhus Andreas Martin-Löf PHOTO: CATCH ARCHIPELAGO VIEWS FROM THE ASPVIK HOUSE INFINITY POOL There are many reasons why you might choose to reinvent yourself. Oftentimes a major transition in your life or a significant event can spark both the need and desire to make some serious changes. Perhaps you lost your job or are changing careers. Maybe you lost a loved one who was very close to you. You could be getting married or having your first child. Heck, even a move to a new town or just across town can really shake up your life. The key is not to look at these transitions as a challenge, but rather an opportunity. How can you find inspiration to make changes and reinvent yourself to improve your outlook on life for the long run? Think About What You Want Your Future to Be The first step is to take some time and really think about who you want to be and where you want your life to take you. It’s very easy to get caught up in a routine. Now that you are in the midst of some big changes, you can reset your mind and rediscover your aspirations. It’s important to stay realistic in your dreams, but try not to limit yourself too much. Make a Plan Once you have a good idea of what you want your life to be, start making a game plan and taking the action steps to achieve your specific goals. By breaking down your plan into small, achievable increments, you’ll be amazed at how much progress you can make. Think about your goals every day and reward yourself when big milestones are reached. Small Changes Go a Long Way Many times, something as simple as a change in personal style can alter your entire outlook in positive ways. If you are moving to a new area where nobody knows you, starting a family and looking for a more mature look or starting a new job and wanting to make a strong first impression, have no shame in changing the way you dress. Going for a more modern look is popular these days, while also ensuring you look simple and classy. Shop products for the modern man that will help you achieve this look. This can be anything from a swanky new watch to a new pair of shoes to a fresh new business suit with a tailored cut. Seek Support in Others When going through major life changes, remember that your friends and family are always there for you. Everyone goes through transitions and it’s never easy, so don’t be afraid to seek advice or find people who have experienced the same things as you are going through right now. Humans are naturally empathetic and just talking out loud about the changes you are making can really keep you focused on your goals. Try and Try Again Even the best-laid plans don’t always come to fruition and failure is a natural part of life. It’s important to keep learning from your mistakes and pushing forward to overcome any obstacles that stand in your way. Maybe the new job you thought you wanted to take isn’t really the right fit for you. Don’t let it discourage you. Keep assessing your goals and continue trying new things until you find what’s best for you. Of course, when we say to keep trying new things, that doesn’t mean you should reinvent yourself over and over again. Constantly being in a state of flux is generally not a good approach and will never give you peace of mind. With anything new that you try, give it a little time and use that time to learn from the experience before moving onto something else. Manage Your Finances The first thing that often suffers in the midst of major life changes is your finances. Always keep track of where you are with your money and don’t overspend beyond your means as you try to reinvent yourself. Enjoy the Journey Try to avoid stress and find positives wherever you can throughout your journey of self-discovery and reinvention. If you can do this, you are much more likely to get where you want to be and become more self-confident. Change can be a great thing. With a positive outlook, the future can be limitless in opportunities. With a plan set, and the support of your closest friends around you, this can be the first step in a whole new adventure. 2 Responses Linkalicious 09.07.15 #BigBulgeAlert With Luke Evans - Photography of P Michael PerezPhotography of P Michael Perez September 7, 2015 […] To Positively Reinvent Yourself BelloMag Luke Evans Is enjoying Mykonos … so are we #BigBulgeArlet DailyMail China Is Getting Its […] Reply Linkalicious 09.07.15 #BigBulgeAlert With Luke Evans – OHLALAmag September 7, 2015 […] To Positively Reinvent Yourself BelloMag Luke Evans Is enjoying Mykonos … so are we #BigBulgeArlet DailyMail China Is Getting Its […] Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
