Keeping Timex

timex fairfield chronograph

Founded in 1854, the Timex Group is one of the largest watch makers in the world. They not only design, but manufacture innovative timepieces for their own brand as well as others. Accessibly priced and inherently stylish, they have the ability to produce new lines – and gently update old designs – to keep the brand fresh.

(Note: My first watch was a digital Timex that I had for years until I stopped replacing its batteries.)

What’s trending at Timex?

The newest additions to The Fairfield Collection pair a sleek design with Timex’s chronograph movement system (with 4-hour capacity) on its 41mm case. The leather straps (in tan or black) tooled with perforated detailing adds a modern twist to this classic look.

Dating back to 1854, The Waterbury is getting an upgrade. The same expertly crafted timepiece now includes stainless steel cases (from 38-42mm) and bracelets in silver or black, for a polished, contemporary feel. In a two-hand, three-hand or chronograph styles, they’re made to be worn every day, no matter the occasion.

The best-selling Scout design is freshened up without losing its original appeal. The Expedition Scout Chronograph upholds the classic outdoor design of the original, and enhances it with chronograph functionality. With a 42mm case, it’s water resistant up to 100 meters for those needing to deep dive while checking the time.

timex metropolitan collection

The new Metropolitan Collection offers elegant day-to-night essentials that feature refined case designs, detailed 41mm cases, striking stainless steel bracelets and leather straps. The Southview 3-hand design and Southview multi-function offer twists on classic color combinations (including a rose gold-tone case with a tan strap, silver-tone case with a blue strap); a quick way to modernize your look.

It should be noted all of the aforementioned watches feature the brand’s glowing Indigo night-light. Bright as a beacon on a dark night, but don’t use it inside a movie theater.

Like their famous line says, Timex: Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
