Is there a more prestigious festival than Cannes? You see in Cannes many things that you would not see in America’s most prestigious festivals … like a 3D porn movie.

Gaspar Noe’s Love  was part of the official selection and premiered at the Grand Theatre Lumiere at 12:15 AM. Love tells the story of a young American man  (played by Karl Glusman) in Paris, looking back on his lost love. The movie feature over a dozen extremely graphic and unsimulated sex scenes.

The reactions ranged from standing ovations (at the end of the movie of course) … to journalists tweets Like bad sex, it seems to go on forever with no climax or ending in sight,’. Some people even found it conservative and vanilla. But just like sex in real life, everyone left with a different experience.

Gaspar Noe’s created a much bigger controversy back in 2002 with the movie Irreversible featuring Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel.

So in conclusion, just like any 3D movie, I would not go and see it. I think 3D is annoying and overrated, so is the controversy about sex. It could have been a good idea if the story made sense (maybe it does I don’t know) but knowing the original script was 7 pages long … I highly doubt. One thing is for sure. If 3D movies can throw blood, guns, bombs, dinosaurs, snakes and freshly shopped body parts at your face I think it is only fair sex gets his chance as well.
