The Uniqlo UT

When is a t-shirt not a t-shirt? When it’s 1,000 of them. That’s what Uniqlo UT (for Uniqlo T-shirt) is all about. A democratic form of expression, there will be one that describes exactly how you feel. And there is a lot to feel.

Collections range from animated icons like Peanuts (Snoopy!) and Sanrio (Hello Kitty!), pop-artists (Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat), the world of Disney (from Mickey and Minnie Mouse to Star Wars), as well as magna/anime and the Marvel universe – something for everyone.

To garner buzz for the launch, Uniqlo produced a pop-up exhibit in Toronto (Wear Your World UT) presented like an art gallery, and welcomed design icon, Takashi Murakami, at New York’s Fifth Avenue store.

Although there are 1,000 different designs on offer, the fast fashion retailer is only producing a limited number of each. Visit a Uniqlo store (or online) regularly… and often. To quote Joni Mitchell, you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone.
